Abstract

This article examines corruption as a long-standing social phenomenon with deep historical and socio-cultural roots. It analyzes the main factors contributing to its spread, including economic, institutional, legal, moral, political, and socio-cultural determinants. Special attention is given to the moral and social consequences of corruption, such as the erosion of public trust, the growth of social inequality, and the weakening of justice and governance.
