CYBERSECURITY AND INFORMATION PROTECTION: CURRENT ISSUES

Abstract

This article analyzes the pressing issues of cybersecurity and information protection in the context of digital transformation, along with measures to address them, using Uzbekistan as a case study. Based on the data presented, the article highlights a sharp increase in the number of cyberattacks in Uzbekistan, vulnerabilities in the infrastructure of both the public and private sectors, and human-factor-related risks. Examples are provided of modern technological solutions applied to ensure information security (for example, anti-fraud systems and network monitoring centers) and the expected benefits from their implementation. The article also presents examples of digital forensics methods and practices, including the analysis of digital evidence and scientific approaches to uncovering cybercrimes. Special emphasis is placed on ongoing reforms in this area in Uzbekistan (such as the establishment of a specialized research institute and the creation of a legal framework). The analyses reveal the scientific and practical significance of ensuring information security in Uzbekistan and globally.
