Abstract

Teaching English to young learners requires methods that are both engaging and pedagogically justified. One of the increasingly effective tools in this direction is the use of comics. Comics, with their combination of visual imagery and concise dialogue, naturally attract children’s attention, activate their imagination, and reduce the psychological tension that often accompanies foreign language learning. In my personal experience as a teacher, I have repeatedly observed that even passive or shy learners become more active when visual narratives are involved. This article discusses the pedagogical, linguistic and motivational advantages of using comics in English language teaching and examines why this genre is particularly suitable for young learners.
