Abstract

In this article, there is given information about the main types of role-playing games that are used in English language teaching process. It explores four major categories, such as, classroom role-play, simulation games, digital role-playing games, and improvisational activities. There is also explained how each type helps students improve their communicative competence, increases their motivation to speak English, and supports the development of fluency. There is also discussed about effectiveness of these activities in creating meaningful, interactive learning environments where students feel more confident using the language.
