Abstract

This article provides an in-depth analysis of national theatre traditions and stage expressive means within the context of contemporary aesthetic and cultural processes. The study conceptualizes national theatre not as a static heritage, but as a dynamic artistic system shaped by historical memory, performative conventions, and evolving socio-cultural conditions. Particular attention is given to verbal expression, physical movement, music, symbolic stage space, and actor-audience interaction as key components of theatrical language. Using interdisciplinary approaches from performance studies, theatre semiotics, and cultural anthropology, the article demonstrates how national theatrical traditions continue to function as productive aesthetic resources in modern stage practice. The findings confirm that the sustainable development of contemporary theatre depends on a conscious synthesis of traditional expressive forms and innovative stage technologies.
