THE ROLE OF MORAL EDUCATION IN HUMAN PERFECTION: A PEDAGOGICAL STUDY OF JAMI’S ORPHIC PHILOSOPHY
Keywords:
Orphism (Irfan), Human dignity, Self-awareness, Moral perfection, Cognition of Truth, NaqshbandismAbstract
This text examines the philosophical and orphic (irfan) views of Abdurahman Jami, focusing on his conceptualization of the human being, dignity, self-awareness, and the cognition of Truth. Jami’s works systematically analyze noble qualities and vices through comparative methods, such as generosity versus greed and politeness versus rudeness, to guide spiritual perfection or warn against degradation. Central to his thought is the role of love as the meaning of life, modesty as the basis of destiny, and the human heart and soul as divine gifts that elevate humanity above all other beings. Jami asserts that perfection and enlightenment are achieved through hardship and repentance, embodying the essence of Islam and Naqshbandi philosophy. The text also highlights the reception of Jami’s ideas by foreign scholars, such as Harry Dick, who apply them to contemporary spiritual crises in the West. Ultimately, Jami’s orphic views are presented as a unique synthesis of rationality and irrationality, offering enduring value for socio-spiritual and moral education.Downloads
