Abstract

Maintaining a stable and healthy state of forest ecosystems is important for solving global environmental problems today. This article analyzes the main factors affecting forest ecosystems, including climate change, anthropogenic pressures, pests and diseases. Also, science-based measures aimed at forest protection, restoration and preservation of their biological diversity are covered. Possibilities of maintaining a healthy state of forest ecosystems through the use of sustainable forestry, implementation of monitoring systems, use of biological protection methods and application of innovative technologies are shown.
