Abstract

The article analyzes the pedagogical and didactic views of the prominent representative of Uzbek literary studies, Homil Yakubov, and his services in the development of literary education on a scientific basis. The scientist’s contribution to the method of analyzing a literary text, the textbooks and manuals he created on the methodology of teaching literature, as well as the scientific and theoretical foundations of his requirements for the teacher are studied. The results of the research are aimed at highlighting the significance of Yakubov’s legacy in modern literary education methodology.
