While easy to collect, these traditional measures correlate poorly with the outcomes that matter most to university administrators: student success, persistence, graduation rates, and retention. This article critically examines the limitations of conventional library metrics and proposes a framework of alternative, high‑impact measures that directly link library services, spaces, and expertise to student achievement. Drawing on recent multi‑institutional studies and the growing field of library assessment, the discussion explores four categories of alternative metrics: behavioral engagement indicators (such as library space usage, database logins, and document delivery requests linked to individual student IDs); instructional impact measures (including rubric‑scored information literacy outcomes and pre‑post testing of research skills); relationship‑based metrics (such as faculty‑reported integration of library resources into course syllabi and assignments); and retention‑specific analytics (comparing library use patterns of persisting versus departing students). The article argues for the creation of a student success dashboard that integrates library data with institutional student records, respecting privacy and ethical boundaries. It concludes with practical recommendations for implementing alternative metrics, including the formation of cross‑campus assessment partnerships, the use of propensity score matching to establish causality, and the reorientation of library culture toward outcomes‑based evidence. Rooted in answering discrete, fact-based questions, conventional reference service struggles to accommodate the expectations of contemporary researchers who demand layered, longitudinal, and multidisciplinary support. This article argues for a structural redesign of reference services toward deep research support, reframing the reference interaction as a sustained pedagogical partnership rather than a single encounter. Drawing on evidence from case studies in academic and research libraries, the discussion explores four interconnected dimensions of redesign: the evolution of the reference interview into a diagnostic research consultation; the integration of digital scholarship tools into asynchronous reference workflows; the retraining of liaison librarians as embedded research coaches; and the development of assessment metrics that value research depth over query volume. The conclusion offers practical pathways for reallocating staffing, technology, and space to transform hybrid reference services into engines of advanced research capacity. However, its integration into the standardized, credit-based framework of university vocal pedagogy presents profound epistemological and methodological challenges. This article argues that meaningful integration requires more than the addition of Shashmaqom repertoire to syllabi; it demands a pedagogical reorientation that respects oral-aural transmission, the spiritual concept of tavze, and the intricate relationship between poetic metre (aruz) and melodic mode (maqom). Drawing on fieldwork at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and regional music colleges, this study examines three core areas of tension between traditional usta-shogird (master-apprentice) education and modern institutional structures: notation versus orality, assessment versus holistic mastery, and stylistic authenticity versus academic standardization. The article proposes a blended pedagogical model wherein Shashmaqom is taught through a spiral curriculum, aural banks, and embodied practice, while still fulfilling university credit requirements. Ultimately, this integration is not merely a technical adjustment but a vital act of cultural sustainability that ensures the living transmission of Uzbek vocal heritage for future generations. While maqom studies have often focused on the differences among these three traditions, this research aims to uncover the unifying musical principles. Using comparative analysis, structural-typological methods, and historical approaches, the study examines selected instrumental sections (e.g., Rost, Segoh, Chorgoh, Bayot, Navo) from each tradition. The results reveal that all three traditions share a two-part compositional structure (sarakhbor and tarona), identical modulation principles within the modal system, similar initial rhythmic patterns, and common techniques of repetition and variation. The discussion addresses the historical and cultural roots of these commonalities, particularly the intensive cross-regional creative contacts among musicians from the 16th century onward and their grounding in a unified “Science of Oriental Music”. Differences (e.g., fewer reprise elements in Khorezm or complex polyrhythms in Bukhara) do not invalidate the shared enchantment but instead display its richness. The article concludes that studying the instrumental sections of the three maqom paths as a single enchantment is of great importance for contemporary music education and compositional practice. The reliability, availability, and safety of medical devices are critical factors in healthcare service quality, particularly for life-supporting and diagnostic equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, defibrillators, ultrasound systems, X-ray devices, patient monitors, and laboratory analyzers. Traditional maintenance strategies, including reactive and scheduled preventive maintenance, are often insufficient because they do not fully consider real-time device condition, usage intensity, environmental stress, and historical failure patterns. To address these challenges, this study proposes a data-driven predictive maintenance framework based on machine learning. The proposed methodology includes medical equipment data acquisition, sensor-based condition monitoring, preprocessing of maintenance records, feature extraction, failure risk classification, remaining useful life estimation, anomaly detection, and maintenance decision support. Machine learning algorithms such as Random Forest, XGBoost, Support Vector Machine, Long Short-Term Memory networks, autoencoders, and hybrid ensemble models are considered for predicting potential failures before they occur. The results indicate that predictive maintenance can reduce unexpected downtime, improve equipment availability, optimize maintenance scheduling, and support clinical engineering decision-making. By integrating IoT-based monitoring, historical maintenance records, and machine learning models, healthcare institutions can move from reactive maintenance toward intelligent and condition-based asset management. The proposed framework is especially relevant for high-risk medical equipment where sudden failure may interrupt clinical workflow or threaten patient safety. In various fields - such as economics, physics, engineering, biology, and even social sciences - mathematical modeling is widely used to understand, analyze, and find optimal solutions to emerging problems. In this process, real phenomena are simplified and expressed in the form of formulas, equations, or systems of equations. After that, calculations are performed on this mathematical model using different methods, results are obtained, and these results are compared with real-life situations.Expressing problems through mathematical equations not only provides a precise and logical approach but also facilitates comparison of different options, forecasting, and decision-making processes. For example, in economic processes, expressing supply and demand through equations helps determine price equilibrium, while in physics, motion equations allow prediction of the future position of objects. At the same time, since any model may not fully reflect real life, careful and critical analysis of results is required. In conclusion, expressing and solving real-world problems using mathematical equations is an integral part of modern scientific research and practical activity, playing an important role in simplifying complex processes, achieving deeper understanding, and making effective decisions. Drawing on theories of incorporated memory, the study analyzes how breath (nafas), posture, vocal timbre, and the master-disciple (ustoz-shogird) relationship serve as carriers of historical and spiritual memory. The maqom’s melodic modes are shown to encode not only pitches but also emotional states (hol), while the traditional performance context (majlis) and its etiquette (adab) create a shared bodily behavior that perpetuates collective memory. The article also addresses the impact of Soviet-era codification and contemporary efforts to re-embody the tradition through digital media. Ultimately, the Uzbek vocal maqom is presented as a living, dynamic archive where the past is continually re-membered through corporeal practice.
